MTC Email from Brad...

Fam,
Dang this week went by fast, I guess when you are busy doing good stuff it goes that way. I am so happy that today is p-day hahaha. The end of last week was really giving me cabin fever. Finally about eight o'clock on Saturday my comp and our roommates Elder Hussey and Smith just lost it. We couldn't take anything serious and just had to go sit out in the hall and laugh and laugh and laugh. Elder Smith is the biggest crack up he tries so hard to be serious and just says the strangest things. Last night in our after dinner class we were role playing committing someone to live the law of chastity. So me Kennedy Smith and hussey go in the the room next to our class room in case we get a little out of hand and the first five minutes was a train wreck.....

We've taught Sharon now three times and this last time we only had twenty minutes to teach and the second time we had given her a restoration pamphlet and asked her to read over it and see if it helped make anything more clear of what we had already covered and she read it and said some good stuff which led us to talk to her about the plan of salvation. How we got to the plan of salvation is, Sharon is a very good practicing catholic who is comfortable in her church. Basically she just needed to know why this gospel is important because she thinks that really both our churches are great. That's when I got into the plan of Salvation and asked her some good questions about her family and living for eternity with them. We were doing great but time started to run out.....so we hurry and it got it to prayer and how God only tells us the truth and that He is the only person who can let her know if this is really His gospel and teachings. Well Kennedy asks her to pray in front of us and she says no obviously and because of time we didn't push her.....HUGE mistake. I'm sure Dad can agree, you have to get the investigator to pray with you because the second you walk out the door who is going to hunt and torturer and ruin everything....the adversary. If you just get a commitment from an investigator to pray on their own, they won't. Basically if you can get an investigator to pray with you, it's the most spiritual experience they'll have had in their life up until this point, you'll be able to help them recognize the prompting from the Holy Ghost and you basically stick it right in Satan's face and say "later bud"! Anyway, we didn't get her to pray in front of us and I know I used time as an excuse but I blew it. I feel like I'm going to have the words "GET HER TO PRAY" tattooed on the inside of my eyelids for the rest of my life. Yesterday we went outside for Gym time and played some Crockett and played catch for a while it was really nice. I love being here, the food is treating me fairly well, I eat my weight just about every meal but it's ight. I've only gained three pounds. Mom and Dad I got the packages you sent me thank you they're way awesome. I really would appreciate if someone could get me a list of everyone's home addresses so I can write more letters. Just send them to me thru dearelder so that I can have a printed copy. I am going to take some more pictures at the temple today when we go up for our session at 10:30 so i'll get some printed out this afternoon and get them in the mail in a couple days. I'm having a lot of fun here and I love my district they are amazing! We got our flight plans last Thursday. Our plane leaves on Monday morning This is Monday the 13 just fyi. I'm pretty dang excited...this friday we have orientation all day for leaving the mtc and getting one last piece of advice before we head out to the real world.
